Storm Team Construction – Meet the Staff

Chad Simkins
Owner
Chad Simkins
BIO:
As the owner of Storm Team Construction I have done every job in the company; From cleaning up a jobsite, patching a leak, dealing with insurance companies, to managing systems technology and accounting, I’ve done it all…often all in the same day. I love my job! After a background in Real Estate and Sales Management, I discovered the insurance claim/construction business in my early thirties. I was happy to find a business that was not only profitable, but that I trusted and believed in. I started Storm Team Construction with no help from financial institutions in the form of loans. With my own hard earned money and the dedication to run a business built with integrity and trust, I continue to work hard to grow the company, while at the same time staying loyal and committed to treating all of my customers as individuals, and not just another invoice.

I am a proud father of a 16 year old boy. You can easily find me watching him play football under the "Friday night lights" every week, and working with him and his teammates throughout the off-season in an effort to prepare them for college. I have coached football in one aspect or another over the past 5 years, and really enjoy making a difference in the lives of aspiring individuals. It was this passion that caused me to start stormteamsports.com. Along with some fellow workers from Storm Team Construction, we sponsor young athletes by covering travel expenses, entry fees, equipment costs, as well as offer totally free training and camps for football, golf, lacrosse, and surfing.

Personally, my favorite pastime is surfing and making surf films. Naturally, being from Ohio, it is very hard to surf, so, whenever the opportunity arises and I have the spare time, I love to travel. While traveling to countries such as the Philippines, Panama, Costa Rica, and South Africa, I have seen some of the most beautiful places in the world. I’ve also seen the destitute, poverty stricken, and orphaned, living in societies that offer very little hope. It was seeing this depravation that inspired me to create stormteam.org. I was able to visit, live with, and work with people that are making a difference, and changing lives all over the world. As Storm Team Construction grows and becomes more and more successful, my dream is to continue to work and partner with other people from all walks of life to make a difference in the world.

BIO:
As Vice President of Storm Team Construction I solve problems within every department of our company. I started at the ground level and worked my way up throughout every department. I enjoy the responsibilities that come along with problem solving and conflict resolution. I am a very detailed oriented person who demands a lot out of my team. I enjoy dealing with customer issues and finding solutions that makes everyone happy. Customer satisfaction is my top priority. The most challenging aspect of my job is interacting with the various dynamic personalities within the company and throughout the customer base. Nothing makes me happier than receiving positive feedback from our customers. I am proud to associate my name with a company like STC. STC sets itself apart from other companies in the way it operates with dedication, honesty, and integrity. We have a great mixture of young energetic go getters, and seasoned veterans that contribute to our success.

In my free time I enjoy golfing and fishing with my teenage son. I have also coached his basketball team for the past 5 years. It has been a very rewarding experience to see these kids grow up to be respectable young men, one of them being my own. I could not ask or hope for a better son. I enjoy playing and watching sports. I work hard and play hard.

I am the Operations Manager and work out of the corporate office in Columbus, Ohio. I’m responsible for the organizational and clerical structure of Storm Team. I also handle the flow of incoming & outgoing funds, and processing each and every claim. The most challenging part of my job is making sure all the claims are processed quickly and correctly to ensure our customers are getting the best service possible. What makes Storm Team different from other roofing companies is that everyone really cares and takes pride in making sure our customers are happy. It’s also rewarding to know that everyone else cares as much as I do. When I’m not stuck in the office I enjoy a nice round of golf, or maybe even attending and OSU football game…Go Bucks!!

BIO:

When I am not working, I enjoy being a father and a husband. Family is everything to me! I am married to an amazing woman who has chosen to live a simpler life in order to stay at home and raise our daughter. Although I am often away on location managing builds, it brings me great satisfaction knowing that my daughter is being taught the same core ethics and morals I was raised with. I am a blessed man!

Brian Arnold
Regional Sales Manager
Brian Arnold
BIO:
I’ve worked in residential construction for over 12 years, and been involved with the development and construction of over $75 million dollars in residential real estate for a small custom home builder. With Storm Team, I am responsible for recruiting and training marketing assistants and claims representatives to do their job effectively. I have a degree in information technology, and love using technology and the latest "tech" tools to serve my customers and assist the insurance companies to work more efficiently.

The most rewarding part of my job is working my hardest to assist a homeowner in getting their homes restored to an even better state than they were before a major storm, and making sure the insurance companies cover the costs to do so. The most challenging part of my job is scheduling. I typically work 7 days a week, 14 hour days, so I have a lot of customers to deal with at any given time. Keeping everyone up to date can be a cumbersome task, but I do my best. The most rewarding thing about working for Storm Team Construction, is working for a company that actually tries in every way to do the right thing.

I enjoy traveling, and while traveling to exotic places, I enjoy fishing and golfing. I’m pretty simple.

Doug Tucker
BIO:
Working with homeowners for more than 20 years in the sales, service and repair fields gained me the know-how and experience that made Storm Team Construction the perfect fit for me. I’m proud and blessed to work for a company that holds customer satisfaction in the highest regard. Working to assist homeowners in storm affected areas, under what can sometimes be overwhelming circumstances, is an added bonus for me. In addition to Claims Representative, I’m also a Team Leader – meaning I recruit and train claims representatives to deliver the outstanding quality and service that you can expect from Storm Team. In this role, my goal is to train claims reps that provide excellent customer service to homeowners, while assisting insurance companies, adjusters and contractors in making the process flow smoothly from beginning to end by utilizing the latest technologies. In my off time, you can find me hunting, fishing, traveling, spending time with my family, and more.

 Keith Staschke
BIO:
I joined Storm Team Construction with over 15 years in the home construction industry. I am originally from New London, Ohio, but have spent numerous years in Columbus, OH; Phoenix, AZ; and San Diego, CA. I currently work out of our Sandusky office and cover most of Northeast Ohio. I have a great rapport with my customers and pride myself in excellent customer service and follow-through. I also enjoy training new claims representatives, and giving them the opportunity to make a good living doing something good in the community. The most challenging part of my job is having enough hours in the day to take care of the customers and other claims representatives needs. The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I have helped after a devastating storm has destroyed a home and being able to restore it to pre storm condition. The feedback and gratitude that I receive from my customers and the constant satisfactory referrals are the icing on the cake. I understand the value of this business and want to help people through the challenges of working with their insurance company. I’m a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan, love music and concerts, and I love to travel. My favorite thing to do is to hang out with my friends after a long hectic week.

Larry Wharton
Mortgage and Claims Manager
Larry Wharton
BIO:
My responsibilities include collecting money from the mortgage and insurance companies to match our estimated cost of repair. I also work with our claims representatives to ensure that paperwork is correctly filled out in order to ease the interaction between insurance and mortgage companies. All of this ensures that all funds are collected on behalf of the insured. The most challenging thing about my job is dealing with lost and misplaced mail, and new employees at mortgage and insurance companies. The most rewarding aspect of my job is getting through all the red tape and seeing a customer gets their home restored with the least amount of delay and paperwork possible. Storm Team Construction is different than most companies.. We are a young, vibrant, and growing organization consisting of employees who are all trying to accomplish the goal of making the customer happy with the least amount of hassles, paperwork and requirements. We know each other’s responsibilities and try to do our part of the job with other team member’s needs in mind. I have 5 grandchildren, and in my free time you can usually find me out in the yard gardening, landscaping, or in my workshop refinishing antiques or fishing.
